Descripción
Easy to build cable car with colourful gondolas and a kit of parts available through Bambu Labs. This is the ultimate Christmas display piece for your window ledge, with nearly all parts sourced via Bambu's shop. It features a motorised station, towers and a pulley station for you to hang a collection of colourful gondolas full of treats for Christmas. The motorised station uses a generic stepper motor, with an off-the-shelf motor controller and driver which you can purchase anywhere. All the other parts like the bearings, nuts and bolts are available on Bambu's store. You just order the kit and the few extra bits and get printing! Each gondola clamps to the cable with a realistic spring mechanism which is easy to assemble and optimised for 3D printing. All the parts fit on all Bambu Printers (Except A1-Mini) and already grouped into sub-assemblies. Check out the comprehensive build instructions to get started. Some common questions: What's on the Bill of Materials? The kit has all the parts to make 2 towers, 1 of each stations, and 6 gondolas. What filament should I use? - PLA or PETG will work fine! I've gone with grey or silver for the main parts, but a nice red / gold could work well for Christmas too. Do I need any code? Nope, this model uses a stepper controller which lets you control the speed with a dial. It's wired up to a standard stepper driver, just follow the wiring diagram in the instructions. Do I need todo any soldering? Just choc blocks to extend the wires will be fine. How large is the final model? I've detailed the instructions around having 2 towers which fits nicely on a 2 meter furniture board. However you can change this up and go smaller or larger. Can I edit / remix this? Of course! Please add the logo of your favourite skiing resort and share it with them. Was AI used? An AI background removal tool was used on the main cover photo. No AI was used in any of the models, photos, instructions or description. What is the rope made of? I've used a 2.5mm stainless steel rope, and joined it together with a plastic joiner part and super-glue. You can attempt to splice / solder it if you're brave. Feel free to DM me, or comment any questions you've got about this model! Please share a photo of your finished cable cars in the comments. Boost MeBoosting really helps support creators, thanks!Future work: Next up I'm creating a chair-lift and a sushi plate to compliment the existing gondola. A few people have asked for a wall mounted / ceiling mounted version which I shall do. An alternative to the electronics for people struggling to source the non-bambu parts. - I'll upload a blank motor cover plate so you can use anything like an Arduino Nano to control any stepper motor in the mean-time. Please comment any suggestions you have for future improvements.
