V2 update: improved fit. All parts slot in more easily and hold firmly, and the roof now stays in place. Files updated. 🎄 A gingerbread house that comes as a flat kit card A 3D-printable DIY kit: print one flat kit card, snap the 13 parts out and build a glowing gingerbread house by hand. No glue, no supports, no tools. A kit card in the classic style: every part sits in a frame, like a plastic model kit. Twist the parts off and build a gingerbread cottage 61 × 56 mm and 75 mm tall on a snowy base: two gables and two walls that cross at the corners, a roof that folds along a groove, a chimney, a MERRY CHRISTMAS sign with a gingerbread man, and two little trees. The windows are open holes closed by a thin 0.4 mm yellow skin, so an LED tea light inside makes the whole house glow. ✨ Why you'll love it Looks like a model kit: one flat card, 13 parts, a build you enjoy as much as the finished house. No glue, no supports: the walls and the roof slot together, the last few millimetres of each joint grip, and everything prints flat. Three colours by height: brown gingerbread, yellow windows, white icing and snow. Lights up: put a Ø38 mm LED tea light in the opening of the base and the candy-glass windows glow. With or without an AMS: with an AMS the printer changes colour by itself; without one it pauses twice (at 2.2 mm and 2.6 mm), you swap filament and press resume. Two ways to print: the full kit card, or only the 13 parts with no frame (nothing to twist off or file). 🎁 Perfect for A Christmas table or mantel, a winter village, an Advent calendar project for the family, a gift for gingerbread lovers, a classroom or workshop build, a craft evening with kids (with a little help). 📦 What's inside The base with an opening for the tea light and yellow stepping stones in the snow. Two gables (front with a heart window and a door, back with a round window), two side walls, a one-piece roof that folds along a groove, and a two-piece crossed chimney. A MERRY CHRISTMAS sign with a gingerbread man, and two crossed Christmas trees (a big and a small one). You also need: an LED tea light (Ø38 mm, flameless). Flush cutters help with the card version. 🔧 How to build it Twist the parts off the card and file off the small nubs (the parts-only files have none). Fold the roof along its groove, white snow outside. Put the base on the table and an LED tea light in its opening, switched on. Push both gables into their slots in the base, icing outside. Lower each side wall straight down: its slots drop over the gables' slots (tight for the last few millimetres) and its tabs go into the base. Lower the folded roof straight down: the two small ball finials on the gables come up through the holes in the ridge. Cross the two chimney pieces and set the chimney on the ridge, its tab in the hole. Cross each tree the same way and push its tab into the base; push in the sign and the gingerbread man. To switch the light, lift the cottage off the base. Use an LED tea light only: PLA softens at 60 °C, so never a real candle. 📏 Size and print Card: 251 × 242 × 4 mm (it needs a 256 mm bed). House: base 113 × 96 mm, 75 mm tall. Print time (Bambu Lab P2S): about 2 h 31 min (AMS) or 2 h 28 min (No AMS) for the card; about 2 h 15 min / 2 h 12 min for the parts only. Filament: about 68 g for the card (51 g brown, 3.5 g yellow, 13 g white), about 61 g for the parts only. Printers: any printer with a 256 mm bed or bigger (P2S, P1S, X1C, A1, H2D). It does not fit the A1 mini. Settings: 0.2 mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill, no supports. 🖨️ Print profiles Kit card, AMS and parts only, AMS: brown, yellow and white; the AMS changes colour by itself, two colour changes, no stops. Just press print. Kit card, No AMS and parts only, No AMS: load brown and start. The printer stops at 2.2 mm (swap to yellow) and at 2.6 mm (swap to white); press resume each time. 💡 Tips Put the house on a shelf or mantel with the tea light on: the windows glow in a dim room. Any colours work: red and white candy, or a snowy all-white house. Print a second card for a whole gingerbread village. If you print it, please post a Make, I'd love to see yours!
