Descripción

DISCARNATE — Sword-Whip Belt        At first glance, DISCARNATE looks like an oversized belt, its buckle and metallic segments giving it the appearance of an unusual piece of armor. Wrapped around the waist, the articulated blade remains concealed in plain sight, with its handle resting behind the back. What appears to be part of the wearer’s outfit is, in fact, a weapon waiting to be drawn.        The blade is built from interlocking plates strung along three central tendons. This setup lets the structure coil like a serpent and flow with the movement of a metallic whip, only to lock instantly under tension into an edge as hard as chitin. In motion, its overlapping segments evoke a mechanical spine, blurring the line between engineered machinery and a living organism.        As a whip-sword, the archetype is instantly recognizable, yet this design carries the DNA of a carnivorous tool — one where steel is merely the host for a much more sinister purpose. It belongs to no ordinary arsenal, bridging the gap between functional gear and an apex predator's tail. The name «DISCARNATE» refers to something separated from its physical body. Perhaps that is the most fitting description for a blade that spends most of its time masquerading as something else — a weapon with no fixed shape, caught somewhere between an accessory, a machine, and a living thing.     Technical Specifications & Print Notes   Printing Requirements Material: 100% PETG Hardware: No extra components required (fully 3D-printed) Multi-Material System: No AMS required Print Bed Compatibility: Fits standard build volumes (Bambu Lab P1S / A1 compatible) Important Assembly & Functional Notes Handle Reinforcement: While the model functions without adhesive, applying cyanoacrylate (superglue) to the joint between the handle, the first blade segment, and the pommel is strongly recommended if intended for active swinging or cosplay use. Blade Rigidity Characteristics: The central tendon system features two states: fully flexible and rigid. In the rigid state, the blade resists lateral bending (across its width), but retains a slight curve along its thickness (approx. 1,5-meter flex radius; see reference photos). With proper handling, an almost rigid visual effect can be achieved, though certain poses may be limited. Tolerances & Fit: The tendon segments are sensitive to dimensional accuracy and printer calibration. Before printing the full model, print a test pair of adjacent segments to verify clear tolerances and smooth articulation without binding. In its belt-like configuration, the length along the inner circumference is 860 mm.
