Boost MeConsider dropping a boost if you appreciate the time put into making this model :)Saturn V Apollo 11 | 1:185 Scale Engineering Cutaway The rocket that took humanity to the Moon, revealing the engineering hidden beneath its iconic exterior. This 60 cm tall, 1:185 scale Saturn V combines the legendary Apollo 11 rocket's authentic black-and-white exterior with a detailed internal engineering cutaway. One half preserves the iconic exterior, while the other reveals propellant tanks, engines, fuel lines, structural frameworks, and spacecraft components. The internal engineering is based on historical references, with selected details reinforced or simplified for reliable FDM printing. What's Inside? S-IC First Stage: Five detailed F-1 engines, RP-1 and LOX tanks, propellant ducts, baffles, and exposed thrust structures. S-II Second Stage: Five J-2 engines, hydrogen and oxygen tanks, common bulkhead, and structural framework. S-IVB Third Stage: Single J-2 engine, propellant tanks, plumbing, and engine supports. Apollo Spacecraft: Instrument Unit, Lunar Module Eagle, Command and Service Modules, spacecraft adapter, and Launch Escape System. Printing Specifications Scale: 1:185 Rocket height: 600 mm (excluding display base) Nozzle: 0.4 mm standard Fine details: 0.2 mm nozzle recommended for small decals and lettering Parts: 23 Print plates: 7 Supports: None required Brims: Used on selected parts for better adhesion Multicolor: Prepared 3MF profiles and color-separated components The model is divided into manageable, print-friendly pieces, with detailed mechanical structures designed for reliable printing and straightforward assembly. Assembly All parts can be assembled without glue, using integrated alignment connections. However, for a tighter, wobble-free and more permanent display, I recommend applying a small amount of glue to the main joints after test-fitting the pieces. A display pedestal is included to support the finished rocket. A detailed illustrated assembly guide PDF is also included, featuring exploded views, part identification, and step-by-step assembly instructions. Multicolor Printing The model features authentic black-and-white exterior markings, metallic-looking engines, gold Lunar Module details, and colored decals. For the best appearance, use a 0.2 mm nozzle for the smaller decals and lettering, while the main rocket can be printed with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle. Check filament assignments and print settings before starting each plate. A Tribute to Engineering The Saturn V remains one of the greatest engineering achievements in history. This model celebrates the ingenuity behind the Apollo program by allowing you to explore the incredible machinery that powered humanity's journey to the Moon. Whether you're a space enthusiast, engineer, or 3D-printing hobbyist, this detailed cutaway makes an impressive display piece and an engaging engineering project. "Designed to be displayed. Built to be explored. Inspired by the engineering that took humanity to the Moon."
