Boost MeEnjoyed this design? Give it a boost and keep me creating more cool stuff like this! 🚀💫Hey there! :D This is the third and final headpiece in my Elaborate Halloween series this year. You can find the first and second designs, plus tons of other cool wearable cosplay pieces, in my collection, "Cosplay, Fairs & Events Fashion".    La Catrina Headpiece:  I really wanted to create a "Queen of the dead" headpiece for the longest time. A month ago, while researching, I came across La Catrina character in Mexican tradition and loved the drama and contrast between jewels, flowers, and skull motifs in her design. Then I looked it up on the calendar and saw that "The Day of the Dead" in Mexican culture is celebrated around Halloween, so I thought, why not lean fully into a headpiece for La Catrina as the queen of the dead! And a month later, here we are! :D For this headpiece, I took lots of inspiration from La Catrina outfits online, but I tried to make this an original version by adding lots of design motifs that I enjoy. I'm not Mexican, so if I missed any details, I hope my Mexican friends here forgive me and still enjoy the headpiece. :)   The challenge: My main difficulty with this design was its weight. Intricate components like roses tend to print quite heavy because they need so many walls. I tried to make them as hollow as possible to reduce weight and adjust the print profile to keep them as light as they could be. I also needed the headband to stay comfy and flexible while housing all the connections, which I achieved after quite a few levels of prototyping.    How comfy is it? I wore it for about an hour straight to film content and shoot pics, and I have to say the headband is comfy and secure enough to move around in. But this is still one of my heaviest headpieces, so I don't recommend it for kids.  The Print: This headpiece is super easy to print, A1 mini-compatible, and needs almost no support. I suggest lowering the infill (in most components to 0% or 5%) and reducing the speed. Enable outer brims for at least the headband, the skull, and the roses. For other less-specific recommendations, check out the profile itself! :) Assembly: I made sure the connection method and placement of each component set are different, so assembly is easy and intuitive. Print everything, then connect each piece to the headband from back to front; start with the spikes, then move forward to the skull and roses. For the skull and roses, use a bit of glue at the connection points to keep them from accidentally falling. That's all! I hope you get to print and enjoy this, and don't forget to send me your versions of this design!  Happy printing! :) 🥂✨   Don't miss out on the rest of my Cosplay Collection!
