Giant Candy Cane V2 – Hanging & Stake Mount

The Giant Candy Cane is back – completely redesigned as a modular V2.   The new version consists of 11 individual parts and is available in four finished sizes: 110 cm, 77 cm, 55 cm and 33 cm. Each red and white section is printed separately, so the complete multicolor decoration can be made without an AMS.   Candy Cane V2 can be used in two different ways. Parts 2 and 6 are available with integrated openings for hanging the complete candy cane with a cord. For a standing installation, Parts 1–7 contain an internal channel that allows the candy cane to slide over a stake placed in the ground. The internal stake channel is adapted to each size: 110 cm: 27 mm | 77 cm: 26 mm | 55 cm: 21 mm | 33 cm: 12.5 mm   Assembly is much easier than on the previous version. The new Flexi Pins compensate for normal print tolerances and make the parts easier to align and connect. For permanent assemblies, I still recommend gluing the sections that are intended to stay together, as repeated assembly can slowly wear the pins and connection holes.   Every part is clearly marked from Part 1 to Part 11. The connecting surfaces are additionally marked with matching letters, so A connects to A, B to B and so on. This makes assembly much easier even with the large number of sections. A separate connector plate contains 10 Flexi Pins. A total of 30 pins are required, so print the connector plate three times.   The print profiles are optimized for a good balance between strength and material use. Areas that need additional strength use local modifiers, while the parts are oriented so the seams are positioned toward the back wherever possible.
