Descripción

Bring a miniature amusement park to life with Adventure Valley, a laser-cut wooden marble run filled with beautiful details and moving attractions. A working Ferris wheel, a marble-lifting tower, and a moving pirate ship turn this layered wooden scene into a miniature world in motion. Built from 3 mm basswood on a 3D-printed base, the model combines laser cutting, 3D printing, and motor-powered mechanisms. Winding rollercoaster tracks weave through the park. Both the Ferris wheel and the tower lift 8 mm steel marbles before releasing them onto the rollercoaster. An optional clear acrylic background panel and a 30 cm warm-white COB LED strip add depth and atmospheric lighting, bringing out the wood grain, engraved textures, and layered construction.  Position the COB LED strip however you like: route it behind the park’s elements to highlight the layered details, or lay it in the channel beneath the clear acrylic panel to illuminate the backdrop. Feel free to get creative and experiment with placement to give your Adventure Valley its own atmosphere! Features Working Ferris wheel: doubles as a marble lift, carrying marbles upwards and feeding them onto the tracks. Marble-lifting tower: provides a second lifting mechanism within the park. Moving pirate ship: adds motion alongside the marble run. 3D-printed mechanics & base: forms the foundation of the model. Optional lighting and acrylic backdrop: enhance the display and highlight the engraved details. Materials & hardware 5 × basswood sheets, 300 × 300 × 3 mm Optional clear acrylic background panel 3D-printed base N20 worm-geared motor, 25 RPM Power distribution board On/off switch or button 30 cm warm-white COB LED strip 8 mm steel marbles Grease for  moving mechanical parts Wax to reduce friction where wooden parts slide or rub Craft glue suitable for wood required for some wooden parts. Select a suitable power supply and wiring for your motor, LED strip, and power distribution board, ensuring that their voltage requirements match. Assembly — Advanced Build This is an advanced build for makers comfortable with laser-cut assemblies, 3D printing, small mechanical systems, and basic wiring. Plan time for careful alignment, test fitting, and adjustment. The layered construction and moving mechanisms require patience, particularly when setting up the marble lifts and track transitions.   Disclaimer:  Adventure Valley is a complex project with many moving wooden parts and marble transitions. not only to build, but also to design. Some sections can still occasionally catch or block marbles, so expect to make small adjustments during assembly and testing. Be prepared to get creative: light sanding, careful trimming with suitable woodworking tools, or gluing small guides in place may help everything run more smoothly. Community feedback will help improve future versions and address known trouble spots directly in the design. If you encounter an issue or find a useful fix, please share it—your experience can make the build better for everyone!   Have grease, wax, and craft glue ready before starting. Test-fit wooden parts before bonding, avoid getting glue on moving components, and allow glued joints to cure fully before running the model. For a smoother assembly process:  Keep moving components free of glue and check that they travel freely. Test the lifts and individual track sections progressively with the 8 mm marbles. Have grease and wax ready  Check the motor and lighting connections before closing up the base. A detailed assembly guide will follow soon. Please take this into account before starting the build.   Design Process All parts and mechanisms were modeled by hand, including the structure, tracks, moving attractions, and base. Most engraving textures were created with AI assistance and incorporated into the  design. AI assistance was used primarily for decorative surface artwork. Adventure Valley brings together mechanical movement, detailed woodwork, and warm lighting in a display piece designed to reward a closer look. If you build your own, share a Make—I’d love to see your version, lighting choices, and finishing touches!
