The Greeter – Step-Sitting Alien Halloween Display Meet The Greeter — the friendliest member of the Alien Scout Team. 👽👋 After looking at all the aliens in the yard, my daughter Lexie pointed out something pretty important: We had a lot of aliens that were lurking, pointing, staring, sneaking around, and generally looking like they might abduct somebody... …but not many that actually looked happy to see the trick-or-treaters. So we sat down together and came up with The Greeter. With one hand raised in a big friendly wave and a much more welcoming expression, The Greeter was designed to sit on the front steps and let everyone know that this particular alien invasion is, apparently, a friendly one. And most importantly, he got Lexie’s seal of approval. 👽👍 👽 A Smaller Step Sitter Like The Thinker, The Greeter is intentionally smaller than the full life-size members of the Alien Scout Team. He was designed to be a quicker, simpler large-format print that still has plenty of presence on a porch or set of front stairs without requiring the filament and print time of the larger life-size aliens. The entire model uses less than one roll of filament and is an easy project to complete over a few days, depending on your printer and settings. So if you like the larger Alien Scout Team models but want something a little easier to tackle, The Greeter is a great place to start. 🎃 Designed for Trick-or-Treaters The Greeter was created specifically for our Halloween display. The idea was simple: while the rest of the Alien Scout Team takes over the yard, The Greeter sits near the entrance and welcomes everyone in. His seated pose, relaxed body language, and raised hand make him perfect for: Sitting on the front steps Beside the front door Greeting trick-or-treaters Sitting among pumpkins and Halloween decorations Alongside the rest of the Alien Scout Team Anywhere your alien invasion could use a slightly friendlier face He’s big enough to get noticed immediately, but his pose is much less threatening than some of the other aliens hiding around the property. Hopefully he convinces the trick-or-treaters to keep walking toward the candy instead of turning around and running home. No guarantees. 🧵 Big Display – Less Than One Roll of Filament Despite his size, The Greeter is a surprisingly economical print. Using the supplied print profile, the complete model takes less than one roll of filament and is a relatively quick, straightforward build compared with the larger life-size Alien Scout Team members. It’s the kind of project you can comfortably knock out over a few days without committing to a massive print job. Print the pieces, assemble him, find a good step... …and let him handle the introductions. 🖨️ Designed for Standard-Size 3D Printers You don’t need a large-format printer to make The Greeter. The model has been divided into printable sections so it can be produced on a standard-size 3D printer and assembled afterward. That keeps the build manageable while still giving you a large character that looks right at home sitting on the front stairs. 👽 Part of the Alien Scout Team The Greeter joins the rest of the Alien Scout Team as another character with his own job in the expedition. Some scout. Some lurk. Some take selfies. Some leave fake Bigfoot footprints. Some sit around thinking. And The Greeter? He waves at the humans. Honestly, he might be the only one making a good first impression. 🛸 Meet the Alien Scout Team 👽 Explore the Team 👑 Commander – Keeping watch over the mission and making sure everyone stays on task. 👉 “The Original” Scout – The one who started the life-size invasion. 👣 Lurker – Quietly creeping through the shadows. ✌️ Jimmy – Every expedition has that one guy who stops for a selfie. 📷 Tourist – More interested in documenting Earth than actually investigating it. 🥾 Distractor – Keeping the Bigfoot legend alive one suspicious footprint at a time. 🤔 Thinker – Step Sitter – Sitting on the steps and quietly studying the humans. 🐾 Chonkers – The team’s strange and lovable alien pet, designed from an original idea by my daughter Lexie. And now The Greeter is here to make sure everyone feels welcome. 👋👽 📸 Show Me Where He Ends Up If you print The Greeter, please post a photo of your build! One of my favourite parts of creating the Alien Scout Team is seeing where in the world these aliens have landed, and Lexie and I would especially love to see all the porches and front steps where The Greeter ends up welcoming visitors. 🌎👽🛸 The aliens have arrived... at least this one remembered to wave. 👋👽
