At the heart of the system is the universal MagTwist base bracket featuring a secure “twist-lock” design (see video for how to install). Thanks to its modular dovetail rail, a sign rod or the new MagTwist Banner Block slides on effortlessly. The Banner Block Accessory: Designed specifically for secure vinyl banner tie-downs. Pro Tip: When using banner blocks, simply install your lower leg brackets upside down—the upward tension of the banner pulls the block tighter onto the dovetail as a self-locking wedge! 💨 Engineered Wind Gust Relief Mother Nature can be unpredictable at outdoor markets. Whether you use the Magnet Version for steel frames or the Knob Version for aluminum, the mounting base is designed—when subjected to very strong shearing forces strong enough to overcome the friction of the magnets or knobs—to slide along the pole.   It holds fast under everyday vendor conditions, but acts as a safety clutch under extreme wind loads to absorb severe shock rather than transferring destructive stress to your frame or hardware. When the gust passes, simply slide it back into position and keep selling! Two Base Versions: Magnet Version (for powder-coated steel frame popup canopies): Seven 15 × 3 mm round magnets lock it onto the leg with no tools. (Parametric version lets you choose different magnet sizes, but I strongly recommend at least 15mm x 3mm for secure fastening). Knob Version (for aluminum frame popup canopies): Two M8 × 1.25 threaded holes and a printed hand knob tighten it down by hand, or you can use two M8 × 10 mm bolts. Sign blank, 250 × 250 × 3 mm, as a separate profile. Use MakerLab Keychain Maker to turn your logo into a 3MF, and scale it up to add to the sign blank, or if you have a UV printer, just print your sign graphic on the printed sign blank directly. Need a different size? This model is fully parametric. Set Frame to your measured canopy leg size, and everything follows: the clamp, the magnet pockets, the knob holes, and the rail, which stays centered. Other useful parameters: Magnet_Size / Magnet_Depth (pocket size for other magnets). Material Recommendations: Recommended: ASA or ABS. They hold up to sun, heat, and outdoor use (ASA is best for UV stability). The smooth finish of ASA also prevents abrasive wear on tie-down ropes, for that reason we recommend against CF or GF filled filament. Minimum: PETG. Not recommended: PLA. It softens and creeps in a hot car or direct summer sun. Printer Compatibility: The bracket, banner blocks, rod, and knob all fit the Bambu A1 Mini (180 mm bed). The sign blank needs a 256 mm bed (A1, P1S, X1, or similar). Print Notes: Designed to print with minimal supports: chamfered edges and a 45° dovetail underside. Magnet pockets are 15.1 × 3.1 mm with a lead-in chamfer. Press fit, plus a drop of CA glue for outdoor use. Check the polarity before gluing! Threads are modeled slightly loose for easy engagement on printed parts. Hardware: Magnet Version: Qty 7 15 × 3 mm round neodymium magnets per bracket, stronger is better Knob Version: M8 × 1.25 bolt (length 10 mm) or the printed knobs. Just don't twist them too forcefully if printed out of standard filaments. S-Hooks (for sign hanging): The 3D printed S-hooks should be more than adequate for the sign, but if you want something more substantial, use McMaster-Carr 9378T22 open-end steel S-hooks (Wire: 2.03 mm / Length: ~29 mm / Width: ~16 mm / Loop ID: ~7.7 mm).
