Descripción
Capture a thunderstorm inside a block of light. - This decorative lamp uses multiple layers of clear acrylic to create a surprisingly deep 3D thundercloud effect. The cloud is distributed across the transparent layers, while engraved lightning adds another level of depth and becomes especially visible when illuminated. Depending on the viewing angle, the cloud appears to float inside the lamp, creating an interesting mix between a light sculpture, diorama and optical illusion. The illuminated acrylic edges give the whole piece a clean, modern look, while the storm itself becomes much more dramatic in darker surroundings. A small thunderstorm, captured in acrylic. ⚡ Used Materials: Lithophane LED Backlight Board Kit 3mm Clear Acrylic Glass 3mm Black Opaque Acrylic PLA Basic Black for the housing. The Light Filter The light filter darkens the front and back of the cloud slightly and gives the flash its color. The lamp also works without it, so using the filter is optional. For the flash, I used Basic Blue Grey and Translucent Turquoise. Assembly Connect the two LED panels using the included black/red cable. Place both LED panels inside the housing, with the free connector facing toward the hole in the housing. Insert the four connectors. Place the color layer on top of the LED panels. Place the black acrylic plate on top of the housing. Insert all acrylic layers into the slots and carefully push them onto the connectors. Push the cloud layers down as far as possible until they are fully seated. Direction of the Cloud - The cloud works well in both directions, so you can choose whichever orientation makes the most sense for the cable placement. Just make sure to also flip the light filter accordingly, so it stays aligned with the flash.
