Life Size Baby Gorilla – Realistic Animal Statue

This detailed model is designed as a decorative life-size style display piece and looks impressive both painted and straight off the print bed.   For the example shown in the photos, I printed the model using black PLA filament. After printing, I added shading by hand using white, brown, gray, and black paints to bring out the fur, face, hands, feet, and other sculpted details.   For the eyes, I used brown and black markers, then applied a small amount of clear nail polish over them to create a glossy, glass-like eye effect. This simple finishing technique makes the expression look much more realistic.   You do not need to paint the model, though.
