The spiral blades on the inner cone ride against the matching blades in the outer shell, so the moment you let it go it rotates on its way down and drops right out the bottom in one continuous motion. You can start it from the top or the bottom in any orientation and it behaves exactly the same, so there is no right way to load it and no stopping point anywhere in the stroke — it enters, spins through, and exits, and you flip it over and do it again. It took several rounds of prototyping to get the blade sweep and clearance dialed in so the rotation happens on its own with no push behind it. It's fully print-in-place, so it comes off the build plate ready to slide with no assembly and no supports.
