[Edit 14th September] There was a brief period when the wrong combination of pieces was uploaded. If you printed the model prior to this point, there's a chance that you printed the file with the error, in which case the locking nut won't fit into the upper base piece. It was the upper base file that was wrong, but I've added a modified version of the nut which should solve that issue without wasting as much filament as having to reprint the whole upper base. Sorry for the inconvenience!   This is a tool to centre and hold pots on a pottery wheel for trimming/glazing/sanding. It has sliders which move in towards the middle at the same rate, which ensures the pot is held in the middle of the wheel. It's available in a 3 and 6 jaw version, and for clockwise and anticlockwise wheels (the turning of the wheel maintains the grip as long as the direction matches. Pick the name that matches your wheel direction)   It grips over the wheelhead using another set of sliders, which can be changed to grip wheels of different sizes from 100mm-400mm.   Designed to print on a standard 256mm build plate with no supports and no hardware required. To assemble the tool: Lower Base plate is placed with screw thread facing up Upper Base is placed on top as shown in the pictures (the same way as it's printed) Top Plate goes on top. The middle hole has an angle on one side, this side should face upwards. Use the printed tool to loosely tighten the nut onto the screw thread to hold everything together. Flip it over and insert the appropriate sized base slider by lining up the slots. There are different lengths for the slider part and different heights for the insert that comes down to grip the wheel (Once the inserts are in place, they should be difficult to remove. If you think you'll use several sizes of slider, it might be worth printing multiple sets of the correct size insert rather than trying to swap them) Place onto your wheelhead, tighten the lower sliders until they firmly grip, then fully tighten the nut. The centring tool should now be securely in place. The sliders are reversible, with a smaller and a larger side. They get inserted at the outer end of the slot in the top plate, and can only go in at the correct point in the rotation You can stick rubber/TPU pads onto the sliders for a better grip if you find that it turns when in use.
