Model Information This is a fully 3D-printable fantasy lantern designed around four detailed light-transmitting panels. The lantern consists of a bottom section, the main pillar/frame structure, four individual panels, a top/locking section, and a separate holder designed for an IKEA light fitting. (Stråla lamp cord with an 860 lumen led-lamp (E14) Assembly is straightforward: insert the four printed panels into the corresponding sides of the frame, place the frame onto the bottom section, and secure the assembly with the top/locking piece. The lamp holder is fitted into the opening in the bottom of the lantern, allowing the light source to sit centrally behind the panels. The main lantern is designed to be assembled mechanically without screws or permanent glue, making it possible to remove or replace the panels later. The four panels have been specifically designed for light transmission rather than simply being flat decorative images. Their varying thickness creates highlights, shadows and fine details when illuminated, giving the lantern a very different appearance when switched on compared with when it is unlit. Please use an LED light source only. The light fitting/bulb is not part of the printed model. Print Profile Information The included print profile is prepared for a Bambu Lab P1S with a 0.4 mm nozzle using Bambu PLA Basic. It uses a 0.20 mm layer height, 2 wall loops, 15% grid infill and automatic tree supports where required. The project is divided into five build plates to make printing and assembly easier. Two plates contain the four detailed lantern panels, while the remaining plates contain the top/lock, pillar/frame structure, bottom section and IKEA light-holder insert. The panel orientation and settings are already prepared in the profile, so I strongly recommend keeping their original orientation to preserve the intended light-transmission effect and surface detail. The profile uses a Textured PEI Plate and includes automatic brims and tree supports where needed. For the best-looking illuminated panels, consistent filament and extrusion are especially important, as small differences in thickness directly affect how much light passes through the printed image.
