Forest Spirit - Wearable Branch Headpiece

Welcome to the first piece of this year's fall collection! 🎃✨   For this year, I'm planning several exquisite wearable designs for anyone who wants to print eye-catching, customizable, and novel pieces for Halloween! All of them are gonna be published as part of my collection “Cosplay, Fairs & Events Fashion”, so stay tuned to see how many I can fit in! :D   🍁 For this design, I really wanted to bring a "spiritual being with connections to forests" to life. Kinda along the lines of a druid, or a shaman. At first, I wanted to design something similar to moose/deer antlers, but I saw several cool designs had already been made on Makerworld. So I decided to go in another direction: a multi-color piece with oak branches growing right out of your skull. :D   🍁 Also, I wanted this design to be.. eyecatching. Something that could be the star of the show (even with simple clothing and makeup choices). So as a result, this is a pretty big headpiece. Each side is about 30 cm long.   🍁 Material: I used dual-color red & black Bambu silk for branches and translucent red for the leaves to give them an otherworldly fall look. But of course, you can use any other combos to get the vibe you want! :)   🍁 Sizing & Balance: The headband on this design is universal, meaning you don't need to resize it. I also made it wider than my other headbands to give you enough stability for the giant branches. Still, you might want to avoid sudden head movements while wearing this one. :D 🍁 Print: Although there are several plates, printing this piece is quite easy. 0.2 mm layers, support for critical regions, and a very low infill percentage (about 5%). I suggest lowering your printing speed and enabling “outer brims” if you usually face adhesion issues.   Here I used translucent filament for the oak leaves, which requires further tuning of the speed, temperature, and fan settings. If you want to use the same, I suggest you check “Bambu Wiki” for these settings.   I suggest printing the leaves without the brims if your bed adhesion is good enough, since cleaning all that brim could be annoying. But if you need to enable brims, make sure to give it 0.15 to 0.2 mm Brim-Object Gap so you have a smoother cleaning phase. 🍁 Assembly: This design has two main branches on each side, and each connects to some smaller twigs. I bundled each main branch with its designated twigs on a buildplate. So first, connect all the branches & twigs on separate plates. Then, connect the two main branches together. Assembled branches shouldn't require any glue, but you can use some to reduce any possible “wiggle”. After detaching the leaves from the plates and cleaning them, you can use a heat gun or similar to twist and turn them a little bit so they look more natural. These are pretty thin, so it should be very low-effort. Use a little glue on the tail of the leaves to keep them securely in place.    Hope you enjoy them, and let me know your feedback and see your builds! Happy fall, happy printing! 🍁🥂✨
