✝️ Meet Pablo the Missionary Many years ago, Pablo travelled through the remote valleys of the Pyrenees as a Christian missionary. His journey led him farther and farther away from the known roads and into isolated mountain villages that rarely saw visitors. Then one day... Pablo disappeared. No message. No belongings. No trace. For decades, nobody knew what had happened to him. Until an old abandoned village was discovered deep in the mountains. Inside one of the ruined houses was something rather unusual. Pablo had returned. Or at least... his head had. His small religious medallion was still hanging beneath him, and somehow Pablo still wore the same strangely peaceful expression. Exactly what happened in that forgotten village remains a mystery. Maybe some mysteries are better left unsolved. 💀 What is Pablo? Pablo is part of my: Halloween Shrunken Head Collection I designed him as a detailed character for: Halloween decoration miniature painting hanging decoration display fantasy and horror projects customizable props Pablo has a very distinctive silhouette and a lot of sculpted character. His exaggerated features include: very large eyebrows oversized nose large ears stitched mouth wild hair rope-style hanging loop dangling charms small religious medallion These details make him especially fun to paint. 📦 Included Files Pablo is supplied in several formats so you can choose how you want to print him. Complete model The original version is included as one complete model. This is ideal if you want to: choose your own orientation create your own supports make your own cuts scale the model prepare your own print setup Pre-cut version A pre-cut version is also included to make orientation and printing easier. After printing, the individual parts can simply be glued together. Included formats STL 3MF Prepared print profiles can also be provided for compatible Bambu Lab printers. ⭐ Best Quality For the nicest result I recommend: 0.12 mm Layer Height Pablo benefits especially from the finer resolution around: eyebrows wrinkles stitches hair ears teeth medallion lower hanging details For a faster print, 0.20 mm still gives a very nice result. 🌳 Supports Pablo is not completely support-free. I recommend: Tree Supports Depending on orientation, support marks may appear underneath areas such as: chin hair ears lower ornaments hanging details These areas are easy to clean up before painting. A brim can be useful for smaller separated pieces but is not mandatory. 📐 Size The complete decoration is approximately: 160 mm tall The head itself is approximately: 90 mm tall Pablo fits on the: Bambu Lab A1 Mini and can of course also be printed on larger printers. 🔍 Scaling Pablo can easily be printed larger. Larger versions are especially nice for painting because the facial wrinkles, stitches and hair structure become even easier to work with. For significantly smaller versions I recommend: 0.2 mm nozzle to preserve the smaller details. 🔧 Assembly The pre-cut version requires simple assembly. I recommend: Cyanoacrylate / Super Glue No screws or complicated connectors are necessary. Simply clean the joining surfaces and glue the parts together. 🎨 Designed for Painting Pablo was specifically designed as a painting project. My usual preparation workflow is: Remove supports Sand visible imperfections Apply automotive filler primer Sand again Apply black primer Spray white or light grey from above Paint with acrylic colors The light spray from above creates a simple zenithal highlight and makes all the sculpted details easier to see. For my example models I mainly use: Army Painter Speedpaints and acrylic paints 🖌️ Painting Ideas for Pablo Pablo works very well with aged, warm and slightly weathered colors. Skin I would recommend: warm brown leathery tan reddish nose subtle purple around the eyelids darker brown washes inside wrinkles Hair Pablo's eyebrows and hair are one of his strongest features. Good choices are: ivory grey dirty white warm light grey A dark wash followed by drybrushing works particularly well. Stitches The stitches around the mouth should stand out slightly from the skin. Try: old bone dirty ivory aged leather desaturated beige Religious Medallion The small medallion gives Pablo his individual character. You could paint it as: old brass bronze aged silver darkened copper A little verdigris or grime can make it look very old. 🧪 Weathering Pablo should not look freshly painted. A bit of dirt helps tell his story. Try adding: dark washes dust grime subtle stains scratches faded colors dirt around the hanging rope The goal is not necessarily to make him disgusting. He should simply look like somebody who has been missing for several decades. 🧵 Customize Pablo You can also use Pablo as the base for your own decoration. Possible additions include: old rope wooden beads parchment small charms weathered cloth additional medallions feathers handmade accessories Because the hanging loop is integrated into the model, Pablo can easily be incorporated into larger Halloween displays. 📷 About the Images The painted models shown in the gallery are painting and presentation examples. Photos of the unpainted 3D print are also included so you can clearly see what the model looks like directly after printing. This way you can compare: the actual raw print with a possible finished painted version. Boost MeThank you für the Boost❤️ Show Me Your Pablo If you print and paint Pablo, please upload a photo of your version. I would love to see where he ends up next. Maybe in a workshop. Maybe hanging in a Halloween display. Or maybe somewhere in an old mountain village where nobody asks too many questions.
