Customizable Medieval Long Sword

Customizable Medieval Long Sword,   Finally made it to making a long sword to go with the suit of armor it feels great in the hand good weight to it and makes for a great cosplay sword to wear with your full set of armor. It is a long sword at 41 inches long uses a wooden dowel to hold it all together for a great solid feel. Knowing me with my armor and the choices you get with most of the armor parts that I could not hold back with having more than just one part for the sword. It will have 5 pommels to choose from and two different handles to choose from also to make it your own and that's what makes this sword special make it your own and become the knight you were meant to be. all parts are separated onto their own plates so you can pick and make your own 5 different Pommels to choose from  2 handles to choose from one with grip and one to be able to add your own grip you will need to get a wooden dowel or metal this size, 3/8" x 48" or 36", I used to a 48" to get all the way down to the end of the handle and cut 10 and ¾", before I put the pommel on. I bought my dowel at Home Depot, but any tool or craft store should carry the dowel you will need. the sticker in the pictures is the dowel sized I used and bought from Home Depot. the guard prints into two parts for the best print profile, add two pegs in the slots and glue together, extra pegs added because some house I always lose one when they come off the plate. make sure to line up the pegs correctly on the blades to find the correct fit before you glue them together, so it is a smooth transition all the way down the blade. the first main part of the blade is a snug fit to the guard so test it out before you glue it, so you know how much you need to go down and how snug it is before you glue it to the guard. I advise to get the main blade and guard glued first then make sure the you get the blade fully on the dowel for the strength factor and if your dowel is bent and crooked like most are, put the bend on the blade side and not with the flat side of the sword or the blade sections will follow the bend and will be bent but if you turn it to the sharp edge it will not make the blade look bent. you will be able to tell so do a test run before you glue! trust me I almost made that mistake with mine. this can be glue and go are go the next step like I did and filled the seams and sanded them down to get smooth then filler primer sand filler sand then two coats of spray paint and two coats of clear coat and rub and buff to add character. I almost hid all the seams but a few you can see and that is good with me. this is the spray paint I used for my blade and use on all of my armor it gives is a nice dimple metal look that's not so shiny works great and hides the layer lines great too. give it a try if you like but I found it is a great look I wanted to go for. there are two different wall hangers also one plaint and one textured and looks like the damaged armor in a way, it has two slots for Velcro straps or two slots for screws or nails to be able to mount the holder to the wall so you can display your sword on your wall. all you need to do is glue the two hooks to the base plate and you are ready to hang.
