I wanted to create a pumpkin that works just as well as a fall decoration during the day as it does glowing in the evening, so I gave it a detailed pattern of oak leaves, acorns, vines, and filigree. The print file includes two print options. The displayed print time is for both models combined. 1) Translucent PETG – LED Tealight Lantern The first print plate has settings adjusted for Translucent PETG, allowing the light from an LED tealight to softly shine through the pumpkin. The model has no bottom, so the finished pumpkin can simply be placed over an LED tealight. Important: The raised details are not pre-colored. To achieve the strong contrast shown in the photos when the pumpkin is illuminated, you will need to paint or finish the raised details after printing. I highlighted mine using Rub ’n Buff Bronze Wax, creating an aged metallic finish while blocking some of the light from the raised areas. This makes the decorative pattern stand out dramatically against the glowing translucent body. *Only intended for LED lights. Do not use an open-flame candle. 2) Standard PLA – Decorative Version The second print profile is intended for regular PLA and works as a non-illuminated decorative version of the pumpkin. The detailed oak leaves, acorns, vines, and scrolling filigree give the model plenty of character even without lighting. The model also has no bottom. A small statement piece that works beautifully on mantels, shelves, windowsills, entryway tables, Thanksgiving displays, and autumn centerpieces. Different Looks in Different Light The photos of the pumpkins were taken under different lighting conditions, ranging from brighter daylight to warm evening lighting. This is especially noticeable with the translucent version, which changes considerably depending on the surrounding light and whether an LED tealight is placed underneath it. Current size ~9cm in height, 10 cm wide (can be scaled) Printing Use a clean print plate with some glue (unless you are using a super tack plate) Use dried out filament(Different filament types impact the print differently, please adjust your settings accordingly. Support Removal: There will be support on the inside of the model to hold up the “roof”. The support on the inside will form a round support area that I needed to “fold” in the middle to be able to remove through the opening. Let the model cool down before removing the supports. Use pliers when removing the supports. Break the support off starting at the middle by breaking (crushing) the support in the middle. Remove the supports in smaller pieces. Light sanding and gentle, controlled heat may be needed to clean up areas where the supports were attached. I used a handheld mini torch, but apply heat carefully to avoid warping or damaging the print. If you like this design, please leave a rating, a comment or a boost. Boost MeLove the leaves?
