Light up your home with Lighter Lamp, an everyday disposable lighter scaled up until it stops being a pocket object and becomes furniture. The flame is the shade: a translucent sculpted tongue of fire that sits over the bulb and glows from the inside out, while the matte black body stays quiet and heavy on the table. The file ships in two versions, one built around a standard E27 bulb and one around the smaller E14. Design & Concept I designed Lighter Lamp around the gesture rather than the silhouette. The red button is not decoration: in the E14 version I moved the switch inside the body and linked it to the button, so the lamp turns on exactly the way the object it imitates does, with a thumb press on the top. The E27 version keeps its switch on the cable, where a table lamp expects to find it. Every detail that makes a lighter recognizable is modeled rather than painted: the knurled pinion wheel, the sloped cap, the vent notches on the side, the red gas button. At this scale those details stop being small and start being architecture. Key Features: Oversized Icon: A disposable lighter, the most forgettable object in a pocket, rebuilt at table lamp scale until it reads as sculpture. Flame Diffuser: The flame prints as a separate part that sits over the bulb, so the light source becomes the shape itself instead of hiding behind a shade. Two Bulb Versions: The file covers both E27 and E14 builds, so you can wire the lamp around the socket and bulb you already own. Button Activated: In the E14 version the switch lives inside the body and connects to the red button on top. Press it and the flame lights, the same gesture as the original. Seven Printed Parts: Black body, cap, pinion cylinder, pinion, pinion wheel, flame, and red button, with the color separation built into the geometry. No paint needed. Detail at Scale: The knurled wheel, the sloped cap, and the side vents are modeled rather than suggested, so the piece holds up when someone leans in to look at it. Hardware Required: Bulb: E27 or E14, matching the version you print. A warm bulb suits the flame best. Lamp Socket: E27 or E14, matching the bulb. Power Cable: Standard mains cable, routed out through the back of the body. Switch: An inline cable switch for the E27 build. For the E14 build the switch is housed inside the body and actuated by the red button. Printing Recommendations:Black Body: Material: PLA. A matte black reproduces the deep flat finish shown in the photos. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Walls / Perimeters: 3. The body houses the socket, the cable, and in the E14 build the switch, so the extra perimeter matters more here than the infill. Infill: 15% Gyroid. Supports: From build plate only, where the slicer flags them around the vent notches and the cable opening. Brim: Optional (adhesion). Cap, Pinion Cylinder, Pinion, Pinion Wheel: Material: PLA in silver or grey, for the brushed metal look of the photographed build. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Drop the pinion wheel to 0.12mm if you want the knurling to read crisper. Walls / Perimeters: 3. These parts seat into each other, so the wall thickness is what sets the fit. Infill: 15% Gyroid. Supports: Not required. These parts sit flat on the plate. Brim: Optional (adhesion). Worth enabling on the pinion, its footprint is small. Flame: Material: PLA in translucent orange or red. This part sits over the bulb and carries the entire glow, so light transmission matters more here than color accuracy. Pair it with an LED bulb, which stays cool enough for PLA. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Walls / Perimeters: 2. Keeping the shell thin is what lets the flame glow evenly instead of reading as a solid block. Infill: 0 to 5%. The part works as a diffuser, not as a structural piece. Supports: Not required. The flame tapers upward from a flat base. Brim: Optional (adhesion). Red Button: Material: PLA in solid red, kept opaque for contrast against the black body. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Walls / Perimeters: 3. In the E14 build the button actuates the switch, so it takes a repeated press. Infill: 20% Gyroid. Supports: Not required. Brim: Optional (adhesion). The footprint is small. Assembly Print the black body, the cap, the pinion cylinder, the pinion, the pinion wheel, the flame, and the red button. Fit the socket inside the body and route the power cable out through the back. For the E14 build, seat the switch inside the body and connect it to the red button. For the E27 build, fit the inline switch on the cable outside the lamp. Assemble the pinion, the pinion wheel, and the pinion cylinder into the cap, then close the cap onto the body. Screw in the bulb and drop the flame over it. Commercial License The downloaded files are for personal use only.
