It helps keep the filament flowing, the printers busy, and the aliens multiplying. 👽☕   Life-Size Commander – Giant Halloween Yard Display The Commander has officially gone life-size! 👽🛸 This is the full-size version of the Commander from my Alien Scout Team, scaled to represent a 3-foot-tall alien. The Commander is the one keeping an eye on the operation while the rest of the team is busy exploring, sneaking around, taking selfies, and generally causing trouble. At life-size scale, he makes a great centerpiece for a Halloween yard display and fits perfectly alongside the other members of the Alien Scout Team.   👽 The 4th Life-Size Alien Scout Team Member   The image above shows the idea behind the project — the Alien Scout Team together as life-size 3D printed Halloween decorations. Commander is now the fourth life-size member of the Alien Scout Team to arrive.   🛸 Life-Size Team Members Available The life-size invasion currently includes: Scout Lurker Jimmy Commander And there are still more members of the Alien Scout Team on the way! The goal is to eventually have the entire team available as full-size 3D printed Halloween decorations, so you can build your own alien invasion scene in your yard.   🖨️ Designed for Standard-Size 3D Printers You do not need a large-format printer to make the Commander. The model has been divided into multiple printable sections so the full life-size version can be printed on a standard-size 3D printer and assembled afterward. Print each section individually, connect everything together, and the Commander is ready to take charge of the invasion.   🔩 Pentagon Dowels for Easier Assembly The Commander uses 3D-printed pentagon dowels to help connect and align the individual sections. The pentagon shape helps keep the parts properly oriented during assembly and prevents them from rotating while everything is being lined up. The required dowels are included with the model files, so the complete connection system can be printed along with the Commander.   📏 Life-Size Scale The Commander is scaled to represent an alien 3 feet tall. The files can also be scaled smaller or larger depending on the size of the display you want. At full scale, though, he has the presence you’d expect from the alien who is supposedly running the whole operation.   🎃 Made for Halloween Displays The Commander works especially well as the centerpiece of an Alien Scout Team display. Place him: In the middle of your alien invasion scene Near a UFO or crashed spaceship On the porch watching over trick-or-treaters Among pumpkins and other Halloween decorations Alongside Scout, Lurker, Jimmy, and the rest of the team Somewhere he can keep an eye on the entire operation The bigger the group gets, the more it starts to look like something actually landed in the yard.   🛸 Build the Life-Size Alien Scout Team Commander makes four life-size aliens now, and the invasion is definitely starting to get crowded.   If you print him — or any of the Alien Scout Team — please post photos of your build!
