The locomotive doesn't need batteries, electronics or an electric motor — its only source of power is air escaping from an inflated balloon.   It's a simple, fun and satisfying project that combines 3D printing, mechanical movement and a little bit of physics.   How does it work?   The locomotive has a chimney designed to hold the neck of a balloon.   The idea is very simple:   Inflate a balloon. While keeping the balloon closed with your fingers, stretch the neck of the balloon over the locomotive's chimney. Make sure the balloon is firmly attached so that the air can escape through the locomotive. Place the locomotive correctly on the track. Release the balloon. Watch the train go!   As the balloon deflates, air is pushed through the locomotive and out of the rear. The escaping air creates thrust and moves the train forward along the track.   No motor. No batteries. No electronics. Just a balloon and air!   Modular Track   The included track pieces can be connected together to create your own railway layout.   You can experiment with different configurations and build a small loop or a larger track depending on how many pieces you decide to print.   Printing additional track sections also makes it easy to expand the set later.   Make It Your Own   One of the best parts of this model is that you can customize it however you like.   Print the locomotive body, wheels and tracks in any colors you want.
