🎨 Paint Press Phone Stand The Paint Press Phone Stand is an original decorative object inspired by a squeezed paint tube. The design captures the moment when paint is pressed out of the tube and transforms into a fluid, expressive sculptural shape. With its exaggerated curves, bold colors, and art toy-inspired aesthetic, it works perfectly as a decorative piece for a desk, shelf, studio, or creative workspace. But the sculpture also hides a practical function. The folded paint tube is designed to hold a smartphone, turning the object into a functional phone stand while keeping that function discreetly integrated into the overall design. A mix of decoration, pop-art inspiration, and everyday functionality, designed specifically for 3D printing. 📱 Functional phone stand 🎨 Design inspired by a squeezed paint tube 🧸 Art toy / pop-art aesthetic 🖨️ Designed for 3D printing 🧩 Multipart design for easy printing and color customization 🎛️ No AMS required 🖨️ Printing Tips The model is split into several separate parts, allowing each component to be printed independently. This also makes it easy to create a multicolor version without using an AMS: simply print each part with the filament color of your choice, then assemble everything afterward. The supplied 3MF profile includes the recommended orientations and settings for each part. Recommended Settings Layer height: 0.20 mm Material: PLA Nozzle: 0.4 mm Infill: approximately 8–15% Walls: 2 🧱 Supports Supports are required for all parts except the cylinder. Paint.stl Supports are required, but I strongly recommend using: Build Plate Only supports The paint shape contains several curves and internal gaps. If supports are generated everywhere, some of them may end up trapped between parts of the paint sculpture and become difficult to remove cleanly. Using Build Plate Only supports provides the necessary support while avoiding hard-to-reach support material between the internal layers and curves of the paint shape. Bouchon.stl Supports required Use the orientation provided in the 3MF profile Tube.stl Supports required Use the orientation provided in the 3MF profile Use 2 raft layers The Tube part has a relatively delicate contact area with the build plate, so using 2 raft layers is strongly recommended. This greatly improves the stability of the part during printing and helps prevent adhesion or movement issues that could cause a failed print. For the most reliable result, I recommend keeping the Tube orientation exactly as provided in the 3MF profile and not removing the 2-layer raft setting. Cylindre.stl No supports required 🎨 Multicolor Printing Without AMS The project was intentionally designed as a multipart model. This means you can easily reproduce the multicolor version shown in the pictures even with a printer that uses only one filament at a time. Simply: print the tube in one color, print the paint in the color of your choice, print the cap separately, print the cylinder separately, then assemble all the parts after printing. No AMS or multi-material system is required. This also makes it very easy to experiment with different color combinations and create your own version of the Paint Press Phone Stand. 📦 Model Parts Paint.stl — paint Bouchon.stl — cap Cylindre.stl — connecting piece Tube.stl — main tube and phone stand 📱 Phone Compatibility The stand is designed to hold most standard-size smartphones. Very thick phone cases may slightly affect the resting angle. For the best stability, make sure the base of the tube is printed cleanly and sits flat on the surface. 🧩 Assembly Tip For a stronger assembly and to permanently lock the model into the ideal position, it can be useful to use a strong adhesive. Apply a small amount of glue to the contact surfaces of the cylinder, then assemble the different parts. Before the glue dries, place your phone on the stand and carefully adjust the orientation of each part until you find the best angle and position for your specific phone. Once you are happy with the position, leave the model untouched until the glue has fully cured. This method allows you to permanently lock the stand into a position that is perfectly adapted to your smartphone and preferred viewing angle.
