☕🌿 Pouring Plant – Teacup What if your plant could look like it’s pouring straight out of a cup? 🌱☕✨ Welcome to the very first model from my new Pouring Pots series! 🎉 The idea is simple: instead of water, a beautiful living plant appears to be flowing out of a tilted teacup, creating a completely unique piece of living decoration for your home. 🌿💚 This first Teacup is also something of an experiment. I want to see how much you love the concept, how your plants grow into it, and — most importantly — what you create with it! 📸🌱 If this model takes off, Pouring Pots will continue with more pouring objects, shapes and ideas. So if you like the concept, please show me! ❤️ Print it → grow it → photograph it → share it! 📸 ⸻ 🌱 How does it work? The plant starts growing in the lower pot and climbs upward into the cup. Inside the cup there is a specially designed support system that guides the plant around the inside of the cup and then back down again. This creates the illusion that the plant is actually flowing out of the cup. 🌿💦 The support is designed to work especially well with climbing plants such as Ficus pumila (creeping fig), which can gradually cover the support and make it almost disappear behind the greenery. For the best result, I recommend filling the central climbing support with coconut coir, coco fiber, moss, or another suitable climbing medium. 🌱 As the plant grows, the support becomes less visible and the living “pouring” effect becomes stronger and stronger. And that’s the fun part: The model doesn’t look finished on day one. Your plant finishes it for you. ❤️🌿 ⸻ 🪴 Three different ways to use the model I wanted the system to be flexible, so the Teacup comes with three different pot options. 1️⃣ Insert Trellis – Use Your Own Pot Don’t want to use the included pot? No problem! 🙌 Use the universal insert trellis set and place the climbing support directly into your own suitable flower pot. This is perfect if you already have a favourite planter at home or want to match the Teacup with your existing interior. 🏡🌱 ⸻ 2️⃣ Pouring Pot with Drainage Holes 💧 This is the complete version with the dedicated pot. The pot has drainage holes and stands on small feet above the saucer, leaving a gap between the pot and the saucer. This allows excess water to drain away from the pot instead of leaving the bottom sitting directly in water. 💧🪴 For normal plant growing, this is the version I recommend. 👍 ⸻ 3️⃣ Pot Without Drainage Holes Prefer a completely sealed pot? There is also a version without drainage holes. This can be useful depending on how you want to use the model, but remember that plants generally need careful watering when there is no drainage. 🌱💧 ⸻ 🌿 The plant makes the decoration One of my favourite things about this design is that the final appearance is not completely determined by the 3D model. Your plant decides how it will look. Different plants will create completely different pouring effects. 🌱 A dense, small-leaved climbing plant can create a smooth green flow. A plant with longer vines can create a dramatic waterfall effect. And as the plant grows, the whole decoration changes. The 3D print is only the beginning. The plant creates the final artwork. ❤️ ⸻ 🌱 My recommendation For the strongest visual effect, I recommend: Ficus pumila (Creeping Fig) 🌿 Use a suitable climbing medium inside the central support, give the plant the right conditions, and let it gradually grow through the system. The goal is for the greenery to eventually hide most of the support and create the illusion of a living plant being poured from the cup.
