About This Project This model is a dedicated fan-art project and a tribute to one of the most brilliant and revolutionary concepts in modern knife engineering—the iconic cinematic morphing mechanism. I have always been deeply fascinated by the unique kinetic linkage and ergonomics of this specific design. Wanting to fully experience how this mechanical marvel works firsthand, I was inspired to create my own fan-made version. This model has been fully adapted for 3D printing and modified to safely function as a utility box cutter using standard hobby utility blades. Every clearance and locking detail was optimized and altered from scratch to ensure smooth printing, assembly, and manual operation.   Working on this project and feeling the mechanical action in my hands completely blew me away. It has only reinforced my desire to support the original creators by purchasing their official premium production model for my personal collection in the future. The material quality and engineering of the real, original knife are simply unmatched. Hopefully, this 3D-printed educational version will make you appreciate the sheer genius of this mechanism too, and inspire you to support the official manufacturers by buying the authentic piece.   Disclaimer: This model is an independent, non-commercial, fan-made adaptation created strictly for educational purposes, mechanical appreciation, and the 3D printing community. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of any knife manufacturer.   This utility knife project isn't for everybody—you'll need some time and basic skills to finetune some of the printed parts, so keep these things in mind before printing. The assembly guide provides detailed information on how to assemble the utility knife, including tips and advice. Please take care when using this; it may be dangerous. Use at your own risk.   In short you will need these parts: 1 x utility knife blade (printprofile contains standard version or large for example STANLEY CARBIDE blade version) 1 x retaining ring /circlip – 40mm 8 x M5 washer (OD max 10mm, thickness max 1mm) 4 x M4 x 8 mm countersunk screw 4 x M4 x 6 mm countersunk screw 7 x M3 x 6 mm countersunk screw M4 x 5 mm threaded tubes Two of them 14 mm length (everything between 12 to 15 mm will be fine) and two of them with 7mm length (everything between 6 do 7,5mm will be fine)   Link for M4 x ϕ5 mm threaded tubes: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184297889470?var=691990258054 https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0DBHTXWGV/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?pd_rd_i=B0DBHTXWGV&pd_rd_w=sNXvD&content-id=amzn1.sym.d9905409-8618-4fee-bb7e-7ea37b1fed02&pf_rd_p=d9905409-8618-4fee-bb7e-7ea37b1fed02&pf_rd_r=NW11WZR8KN8N08T6FQ2M&pd_rd_wg=ztpry&pd_rd_r=73acda20-351f-43c1-8c7e-3fb8fc526deb&aref=dfZccyppsd&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWxfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1
