What if you could 3D print directly onto tulle? This project combines 3D printing with delicate fabric to create an elegant, lightweight and truly unique envelope. The combination of raised PLA details and translucent tulle gives the envelope a beautiful texture, subtle shine and a sophisticated handmade look that is difficult to achieve with traditional paper. The result is something that feels much more special than an ordinary envelope. 💌✨ ✨ Perfect for special occasions This envelope can be used for much more than just letters. It is perfect for: 💍 Wedding favors & bomboniere 💌 Elegant wedding invitations 🎂 Birthday cards & gifts 💐 Special celebrations 🎁 Gift packaging 💝 Anniversary messages 🌸 Elegant keepsakes & handmade stationery The translucent tulle makes it especially beautiful when combined with different colors of PLA and different fabrics, allowing you to create completely different styles with the same design. 🖨️ Extremely easy to print Despite its delicate appearance, the printing process is surprisingly simple. 1️⃣ Start the print. The model is designed to print directly on the build plate. 2️⃣ Automatic pause. At the programmed pause, place a sheet of tulle or another thin fabric over the printed area. 3️⃣ Secure the fabric. Fix the fabric around the edges of the build plate using small, low-profile magnets. Avoid bulky magnets that could interfere with the print head or the movement of the printer. 4️⃣ Resume the print. The printer continues printing the PLA design directly onto the fabric, locking the tulle into the envelope structure. No complicated setup. No special hardware. Just print → place fabric → resume → fold. ⚡ Fast & filament-efficient One of the biggest advantages of this design is how little material it requires. ✔️ Very small amount of filament ✔️ Fast print ✔️ Single print ✔️ No supports ✔️ Minimal waste ✔️ Simple assembly It is an ideal project when you want something that looks premium without requiring a long or complicated print. ✂️ Simple assembly Once the print is finished: Carefully trim the excess tulle around the printed design. Cut the corners of the fabric following the printed envelope shape. Fold the envelope along the designed lines. Apply a small amount of strong glue to the appropriate areas. Let the glue cure — and your elegant 3D-printed envelope is ready. 💌 🌸 Make it your own The beauty of this design is that the final appearance depends heavily on the material combination. Try experimenting with: ✨ White PLA + white tulle for a classic bridal look ✨ Gold or silver PLA + translucent tulle for a luxurious finish ✨ Colored PLA + matching or contrasting tulle for birthdays and celebrations ✨ Different types of mesh, lace or sheer fabric for completely different textures The same STL can therefore become a wedding envelope, invitation, gift envelope, keepsake or decorative piece simply by changing the fabric and filament. 💡 Why this design is special This isn't just another 3D-printed object. It is an experiment in combining 3D printing, textiles and design to create something that looks almost like a piece of couture stationery. The transparency of the tulle allows light to pass through the envelope, while the raised PLA decoration creates depth and contrast. The result is delicate, elegant and surprisingly eye-catching. If you print one, I would love to see your combination of fabric + filament! ❤️ 📸 Share your makes and show what you create! If you enjoyed the design, don't forget to Like ❤️, Boost ⚡ and share your print — it really helps support original designs and makes it possible to create more unusual 3D-printing experiments like this one.
