Ultimate Parametric Battery Organizer A fully parametric OpenSCAD battery organizer that generates the box around your exact battery collection. Instead of trying to find a pre-made organizer that almost fits your batteries, simply choose the battery types, quantities, layouts, and positions you need — and the model automatically calculates and generates the organizer around them. You can mix different battery types in the same organizer, with each group independently configurable. The model supports up to 10 independent battery groups, allowing you to create a compact organizer specifically for your collection. Cylindrical batteries: AA, AAA, C, D, CR123A, A23, CR2, AAAA, A27, N Rectangular batteries: 9V Coin / button cells: CR2032, CR2025, CR2016, CR2450, CR2430, CR1632, CR1620, CR1616, CR1220, LR44 Horizontal / lying-down versions are also available for supported cylindrical and 9V battery types. If your battery is not included, you can select one of the Custom battery types and enter your own dimensions. Group Settings enable_G#: Enables or disables the group. Up to 10 groups (G1–G10) are available. Each battery group can be configured independently. battery_type_G#: Selects the battery type for the group. You can choose from the predefined battery dimensions or use one of the custom battery types. layout_type_G#: Controls how the batteries are arranged: Square Grid – batteries are aligned in straight rows and columns. Staggered Grid – alternating rows are offset, creating a compact brick-style arrangement that is especially useful for round batteries. Symmetric Staggered Grid – similar to the staggered layout, but alternating rows contain one fewer slot so the overall group remains symmetrical. position_G#: Controls where the group is placed relative to the other groups: Center – central area Down / Up – areas below or above the center area Left / Right – areas to the left or right Multiple groups can share the same position. In that case, groups are automatically ordered by their group number. Groups in the Down, Center, and Up positions are arranged from left to right, while groups in the Left and Right positions are arranged from bottom to top. columns_G# / rows_G#: Sets the number of columns and rows in the group. The total number of battery slots is calculated automatically from these values. rotate_slots_XY_G#: Rotates the slot layout by 90° in the XY plane, allowing you to optimize the footprint of the group. custom_slot_X/Y/Z_G#: Custom slot dimensions used when a Custom battery type is selected. custom_slot_R_G#: Corner radius for custom rectangular slots. slot_distance_X/Y_G#: Controls the spacing between neighboring slots along the X and Y axes. Box Settings box_type: Controls how the box height is determined: Fixed battery protrusion – the box height is calculated so that the batteries protrude above the box by a specified amount. Fixed box height – the box height remains fixed, allowing different battery types to protrude by different amounts. fixed_battery_protrusion: Sets how far the batteries protrude above the top edge of the box when using Fixed battery protrusion mode. fixed_box_height: Sets the overall box height when using Fixed box height mode. align: Controls how the groups are positioned inside the available space: Center – groups are centered. Align – groups are positioned toward the outer walls. Distribute – available free space is distributed between the groups. Lid Settings enable_lid: Generates a matching lid. When enabled, a lip is added around the top of the box so the lid fits over it. lid_separators: Controls the internal separators inside the lid: None – no separators. Separators only – adds dividing walls between groups. Separators and different height – adds dividing walls and automatically uses different floor heights for different battery groups. The last option is especially useful when combining coin/button cells or horizontal batteries with standard cylindrical batteries. autogenerate_labels: Automatically generates labels for each battery group. None – no labels. Inside – raised labels on the inside of the lid. Outside – recessed/engraved labels on the outside of the lid. The model automatically checks whether the selected label fits in the available space. If necessary, the label is rotated by 90°. If it still does not fit, the label is hidden. label_type: Controls the information displayed on automatically generated labels: Battery type only Battery type and count Battery type and count on two lines rotate_label_XY: Rotates the label text by 90°. label_text_size: Sets the font size of the automatically generated labels. custom_label: Optional custom text. Leave empty if no custom label is required. custom_label_size: Sets the font size of the custom label. Advanced Settings top_bottom_thickness: Thickness of the bottom/floor of the box and lid. outer_wall_thickness: Thickness of the outer walls. corner_radius: Radius of the rounded outer corners. edge_chamfer: Chamfer applied to the top and bottom edges of the box. slot_chamfer: Chamfer applied to the top edges of the battery slots. group_separators: Thickness of the dividing walls between battery groups. group_distance_X / Y: Additional spacing between groups along the X and Y axes. battery_clearance: Clearance between the battery and the slot walls. lid_battery_clearance: Additional clearance between the top of the batteries and the lid. lid_lip_height: Height of the lip around the box used to locate the lid. lid_lip_thickness: Thickness of the lid lip. lid_fit_tolerance: Clearance/tolerance between the box and lid. label_text_height: Height/depth of the generated label relief. label_border_thickness: Thickness of the border around outside labels. coin_slots_offset: Raises coin-cell and horizontal cylindrical slots to improve positioning and accessibility. enable_bottom_holes: Adds holes through the bottom of cylindrical and rectangular slots. bottom_holes_diameter: Controls the diameter of the bottom holes. Bottom holes can make it easier to push batteries out of deep slots.
