Car Seatbelt Buckle

A seat belt tongue with your own name embossed on the plate. Slides into the buckle to silence the seat belt reminder chime when the passenger seat is occupied by a bag, groceries, a toolbox, or a pet carrier — and doubles as a personalized car accessory or a small gift. Single piece. Prints flat, no supports, no assembly. ──────────────────────────────── ⚠️ READ BEFORE PRINTING ──────────────────────────────── This part disables the seat belt reminder. It is NOT a substitute for wearing a seat belt, it offers no crash protection, and it must never be used in place of buckling up. In many countries fitting a device that defeats the seat belt warning is illegal — check your local road traffic regulations before use. Printed in plastic, this part is not a certified safety component. Use at your own risk. ──────────────────────────────── FIT — MEASURE YOUR BUCKLE FIRST ──────────────────────────────── Seat belt tongues are NOT universal. Before printing, measure your own vehicle's tongue with calipers and compare:  • Tongue thickness  — typically 1.8–2.2 mm  • Tongue width  • Latch slot size and distance from the tip If it doesn't fit, scale in X/Y only or adjust the STEP file. Do not force a tight part into the buckle — you can jam the latch mechanism. ──────────────────────────────── MATERIAL — DO NOT USE PLA ──────────────────────────────── A parked car's cabin reaches 60–80 °C in summer. PLA softens around 55–60 °C and this part will deform or snap.  Recommended : PETG, ASA, ABS, PA-CF, PC  Best        : ASA or ABS (heat + UV stable)  Avoid       : PLA, PLA+, silk / glitter PLA, TPU ──────────────────────────────── PRINT SETTINGS ────────────────────────────────  Layer height   : 0.16 – 0.20 mm  Wall loops     : 4 (5 for extra strength)  Top/bottom     : 5 layers  Infill         : 60–100 % (gyroid or grid)  Supports       : none  Orientation    : flat on the plate, exactly as sliced  Brim           : recommended (thin flat part)  Seam           : back edge, away from the nameplate text Orientation matters: printed flat, the pull-out force runs along the layers instead of across them. Printing it upright will make it snap. ──────────────────────────────── PERSONALIZING THE NAME ──────────────────────────────── The plate reads "your name" as a placeholder — replace it with your own text before printing. Use the filament-change / colour-change feature at the first layer above the plate surface to print the letters in a contrasting colour. ──────────────────────────────── NOTES ──────────────────────────────── • Deburr the edges with a knife before the first insertion. • If the fit is slightly loose, a strip of tape on the flat face fixes it. • Print a second one for the other seat while you're at it.
