Custom Button Covers for IKEA BILRESA Printed covers for the BILRESA remote, labelled so you know what each press actually does. The remote has two buttons. Each one does three things: press, double press, hold. That's six actions and no markings anywhere. Single press you'll remember. Double press and hold you won't, especially once they're bound to things like PC power, the alarm, or the printer, etc etc.   These covers put the icon and the press type on the button itself. They clip over the stock caps. No glue, no screws, nothing modified, and you can put the originals back any time.   --- Six actions, two buttons Every icon carries a marker for how to trigger it: - · single press - .. double press - — hold Top half and bottom half each take 1 to 3 zones, so you can mix. One big icon up top and three small ones underneath works fine.   --- Design your own → somrig.marcel1.com   The covers in these photos are just examples. The Tradvri Button Customizer lets you build your own in the browser. Pick Somrig ora Bilresa and go.   Chose from around 7000 icons. Set size, colour and rotation, add text labels above or below. Press indicator is per zone, placed inner or outer. Separator lines can be customized.    Downloads: - 3MF for multi-colour. Every icon and label can have its own colour. Opens in your slicer and arrives pre-oriented face down, with the plate and icons grouped so they move together. - SVG at true physical size. - PDF of a full A4 sheet, for paper inlays.   Everything runs in your browser. Nothing gets uploaded.     Boost MeDownloads from the site don't count for points on MakerWorld. If the tool was useful to you, a boost here is highly appreciated! It stays free either way.  Printing Face down, no supports. Nozzle size matters more than layer height, because the icons and text are the first layer. 0.2mm gives crisp small text. 0.4mm is fine if you keep the fonts larger. Clean your plate properly. Same reason: thin detail on layer one won't stick to a tired or greasy sheet, and that's the failure people actually hit. PETG is the safer choice since the clips flex every time you pull a cover off. PLA holds up fine too, and most of the covers in these photos are PLA.     How it was made Over 20 prototypes for the 3D model, and multiple weeks on the website. The clips were the problem, not the icons. IKEA's caps give you almost nothing to grab onto and the early versions just snapped. Getting there meant matching the mating surfaces closely, thickening the clip roots, and rounding the internal corners so the stress had somewhere to go. There are photos in the gallery showing the original part next to the printed one. SOMRIG version Same idea for the SOMRIG shortcut button. IKEA discontinued it, but plenty are still in use. 👉 (still uploading) The builder handles both.
