Layer Height: 0.2mm is highly recommended to preserve the runic text and the sharp texture of the bone. Infill: 10% - 15% (Gyroid or Lightning patterns work best). Keep it hollow enough to remain lightweight for wearing, but sturdy enough to survive a convention. Supports: Yes. Tree supports are highly recommended, especially around the lower jaw of the main skull, the protruding horns, and the side spikes. Orientation: Print tilted backward slightly so the supports generate on the underside of the armor, leaving the highly detailed top surface and main skull pristine. 🎨 Post-Processing & Painting Tips As seen in the reference photos, this model goes from a crisp raw print to a stunning relic with a little paint! Prime: Sand lightly and start with a solid coat of black or dark brown filler primer. Base Coat: Paint the bone areas with a flat tan or ivory acrylic, and use a dark metallic for the base plates. Weathering (The Magic Step): Apply a dark brown or black wash over the entire piece. Wipe away the excess so the dark paint settles into the runes, crevices, and eye sockets to make the details pop. Dry Brush: Finish by lightly dry-brushing metallic gold, bronze, or pale bone color on the raised edges and filigree for that ancient, battle-worn look.
