Alien Scout - LIFE SIZE PRINT

Life-Size Alien Scout – Giant Halloween Yard Display The Alien Scout has officially gone life-size. This version of the Scout is scaled so that the alien would stand approximately 3 feet tall if he were standing upright. Because he is in a low crouching pose, the finished model is shorter than 3 feet overall, but the proportions are based on a roughly 3-foot-tall alien. With one hand planted on the ground and the other arm stretched out pointing into the distance, the Scout looks like he has just landed, spotted something, and is directing the rest of the team toward it. At this scale, he is no longer a shelf model. He is a full-size display piece built for Halloween yards, porches, gardens, alien scenes, haunted houses, conventions, or anywhere else that could use an unexpected visitor. 👽 The Alien Scout Team Is Going Life-Size   The image above shows where this project is heading — the entire Alien Scout Team together as life-size 3D printed Halloween decorations. The Scout is the first of the team to get the full life-size treatment, but he will not be alone for long. More life-size versions are coming, including: Commander Lurker Tourist Jimmy Keep an eye out for them as the rest of the team starts arriving. 🖨️ Large Print Without a Large-Format Printer The Scout has been divided into multiple sections so the entire model can be printed on a standard-size 3D printer and assembled afterward. For assembling my Scout, I used 1/4" × 1 1/8" wooden dowels to help align and connect the sections. For convenience, I have also included 3D-printable dowels with the files if you would rather print them instead of using wooden ones. One of my goals with the life-size version was to keep the filament use reasonable. At full life-size scale, the complete Scout takes just under 2 rolls of filament to print. That makes him a surprisingly manageable project considering the size of the finished model. 📏 Scale The Scout represents an alien approximately 3 feet tall when standing upright. Because of the crouched pose, the finished model itself does not stand 3 feet high. Think of it as a life-size 3-foot alien caught in a crouching position. The files can also be scaled if you want to make your Scout smaller or go even bigger. 🎃 Made for Halloween Displays The Scout was designed with Halloween yard displays in mind.
