Descripción
Dragon Spine Armor is a wearable articulated back mechanism inspired by dragon scales, vertebrae and fantasy armor design. The armor is built from modular backbone segments that follow the shape of the back. Each scale module is connected to a cable-driven slider system: when the pull rings are pulled, the scales lift and open like a mechanical dragon spine. The scales return to their closed position using elastic bands. The design is fully mechanical — no motors, electronics or screws are required. It uses print-in-place hinges, printed pins, slider plates, strings, return elastics and adjustable TPU neck and waist straps. This project is designed as a wearable cosplay/fantasy armor piece and as a mechanical 3D printing challenge. The modular structure makes the backpiece flexible enough to move with the body while still keeping a strong visual dragon-spine silhouette. For assembly, please follow the included assembly guide carefully, especially the string routing and tension adjustment steps. Equal string tension is important so that all scales open evenly. Required non-printed parts: - String/thread - Return elastic bands Print profiles: - Main armor parts: PLA - Neck and waist straps: TPU, printed separately This is a decorative cosplay accessory and not protective safety equipment.
