Kit Card - Dragon BONBON

This BONBON capsule introduces you to the colourful world of Hoardlings, a race of tiny treasure-seeking dragons. Inside is a complete miniature experience, including an easy-to-build kit card, a gold coin, a coin-purse lair, and a full-colour illustrated field guide.   Everything fits neatly inside a 2.7" BONBON with plenty of room to add extra coins if desired.      Finally, the scroll rounds out the entire package with easy assembly instructions and an inside look into the world of Hoardlings.        No BONBON? No problem! Print as much or as little of the Hoardling experience as you want. Ready to Print* Your Own Hoardling? Let's begin! Just a few common sense things to be aware of: Small parts, choking hazard, keep away from babies/pets/cranky adults This is a miniature and not suitable for everyone Clean build plate is a MUST Textured build plate recommended (high tack plates may break cards upon removal) Fit differs between printers and filaments; always do a test print before gifting or batch printing. Parts can break off prematurely while removing the card from the build plate unless you take a few simple and easy steps first. Use a freshly cleaned textured build plate. Let it cool completely first, then slowly and carefully flex the plate. The card should pop off easily if it hasn't already self-released. Easy peasy, I promise! Troubles? Hoardlings can, will, and do (with joyful impunity) steal anything vaguely shiny, valuable, and/or structurally important to modesty/world peace.   📜 Paper Scroll 📜 For best results, download and print the PDF version of the guide (not the image above). The PDF is a high quality vector file and can be found in the “Documentation” section below ⬇️ Print the guide double-sided on regular-weight paper. Cut out along dotted lines. If this will be put in a BONBON, trim paper close to the border edges so that overall width is ~50 mm (2"). This is to ensure a hassle-free fit inside the capsule. Print the scroll band from the print profile. Roll the field guide into a tight tube then slip the scroll band over to secure.   🪙 Coins 🪙 Coins can be printed in two ways: whole or notched. Coins with notches can be “held” by one or more dragons. Multi-notched coins can be found in the RAW file (click “Download STL/CAD Files”) beneath the Print Profile pane up above. They're either performing a cash summoning ritual or engaged in a 6-way tug-of-war for dominance.  👛 Coin Purse 👛 CREDIT: Although I'm not required to say so, it's only fair that I give a shout-out to one of the tools I used to create the purse. I modelled the base mesh in Fusion (as shown below) and then put it through Bumpmesh (a free, open-source browser-based app) to add the texture.    Assembly should be done before placing into the BONBON or giving as a gift. The clasp will be a tight fit and may require using a hard surface to press it in. Once it clips in, it will be quite secure and will hold on its own. However, since it's technically possible to remove it with a bit of determination, a bit of glue is recommended as discouragement. Changing these values may result in parts not fitting or small details printing incorrectly.   Test prints were made using the filaments listed in the Build of Materials using default profiles on a Bambu X1C. All parts were found to have a good fit. Your results may differ due to filament colour/type/brand, and printer.     About I started this project as a “quick” (ha) kit card. Done and submitted within a few days. But then I made the mistake of wondering how much I could stuff into one capsule. The dragon wanted some treasure. So I added a coin. Then I thought it should be able to hold the coin. Then I thought if there's a coin, there should be a coin purse. And if there's a coin purse, why does a tiny dragon need one? And so on and so forth until all of a sudden I found myself having written a back story, made bonus accessories, and printed so many tiny thieving draconian reprobates that no matter where I go in the house, I'm three feet away from one at any given time. … If anyone wonders why I'm not a fast modeler, I present Exhibit A (this whole project) 😅
