Recently I wanted to get into sim racing, so I looked up some “good” cheaper racing wheels. Like many others, I found the Logitech G29. However, that wheel goes for $230 (with pedals) and has sloppy feedback and is not very precise. So after seeing Daz Project's video, I decided to go down the large rabbit hole of making my own. I present to you the FFB-01; A precise, premium, and affordable force feedback racing wheel you can make yourself for as little as $144! If you want to get into sim racing without spending hundreds of dollars, this wheel is for you. This is a 3D printable direct drive force feedback steering wheel powered by the FFBeast firmware. It delivers strong, responsive force feedback, and since it uses open source FFBeast firmware, you don't need to do any coding. Just upload the firmware and you're done. The design is based around a hoverboard motor. Because of the design and strength of the hoverboard motor, you get up to 15nm of torque and direct drive precision. It is also completely silent! I made sure this project is as beginner-friendly as possible and goes together with basic tools. For more info about the build prosses, check out the PDF instructions! This wheel is fully printable on the A1 Mini! A1 Mini print profiles can be found above :) I included the STEP file for a blank middle steering wheel cap so that you can put whatever logo you want on it! Want more sim racing gear? Be sure to check out my new 6-speed manual sim racing shifter here! I would love to here your feedback (pun intended) and comments about this project!
