Frame Maker – Parametric Picture, Art & Tile Frame

Frame artwork, pictures, tiles, signs, and more.   FrameMaker is a fully parametric OpenSCAD generator for pictures, relief tiles, artwork, signs, cards, and other display inserts. Start with a simple hollow frame, then add styled edges, captions, content support, swivel retainers, and mounting features as needed.   Click Customize to open the generator. 🚀 Quick Start 1. Define the Frame Enter the nominal width and height of your insert. Opening Clearance is added on every side, while Border Width and Frame Depth control the surrounding frame. Round the inner opening and outer corners independently.   2. Style and Personalize Choose a flat, chamfered, rounded, concave, ogee, or stepped edge. Add an optional aligned caption to any side, then emboss, engrave, or iron it onto the face. The selected border can expand automatically, or the text can shrink to fit.   3. Support the Contents Choose how the frame should support and load its contents: No Lip — a simple full-depth hollow frame Front Retaining Lip — covers the front edge of contents loaded from the rear Rear Support Lip — supports contents loaded from the front without covering their face Front-retaining frames can also include four or eight printable swivel retainers with matching pilot holes.   4. Mount, Preview, and Export Add an automatically fitted keyhole or two, four, or six rear magnet pockets. Use All Parts for printing, select individual parts when needed, or inspect the frame upright with Assembled. ⭐ Features Direct Dimensions Control the insert, clearance, border, and depth independently. Flexible Frame Styling Combine six edge treatments with independent inner and outer rounding. Measured Captions Fit aligned text on any side with three surface treatments. Optional Content Support Build a hollow, front-retaining, or rear-supported frame. Hardware-Aware Details Generate fitted retainers, keyholes, and balanced magnet pockets.   📜 Maker Scripts ℹ️ Notes For guidance, explanations, tips, and troubleshooting, see the FAQ.   Secure swivel retainers with low-profile button-head screws driven into the pilot holes. Use screws long enough to engage securely without reaching the front face. A suitable self-tapping BHCS is included in the BOM.   Test all hardware and wall fixings before hanging heavy or valuable items.   More frame styles and customization options may be added in future updates.
